Real Estate is the only Hard Asset Trading below it’ s historic high. U.S. Commercial Real Estate is at 60% of its pricing from it’s highs in the early 2000’s. We are seeing low interest rates, improving economy, absorption in all asset classes. Affordable housing is our sweet spot because if the economy continues to improve, then supply and demand will drive rental increases, which is what drives the increasing value of Commercial Real Estate. If we in fact have a “Double Dip”, affordable apartments are the greatest hedge. People always need housing, more than retail or office space. In either case Commercial Real Estate will act as a protection against inflation.
