In a Forbes study titled “America’s Next Boom Towns,” the 53 largest U.S. metro areas were ranked on different metrics of equal weight. Austin led many of the U.S. cities in categories including the percentage of kids ages 5-14, percentage of population ages 25-44 with a bachelor’s degree, the birth rate between 2010-2014 and more. Other Texas cities to make the list were Houston – ranked sixth, Dallas – ranked seventh, and San Antonio – ranked eighth.
